Simon Finnis (Chief Operating Officer) MBT

 

Mr. Finnis commenced in the mining industry in 1986 at Granites Gold Mine in the Northern Territory.  He has worked in the mining industry all over Australia both on the surface and underground, including gold mines in Western Australia and New South Wales and copper mines in Tasmania and New South Wales.  Mr. Finnis gained extensive experience in operating roles, participating in the opening of two brownfields projects (Mt Lyell Mine in Queenstown, Tasmania and CSA Mine in Cobar, New South Wales).  He completed a Masters in Business & Technology with the University of New South Wales in 2005 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cloncurry Metals Pty Ltd in September 2007.  His most recent operational role saw him based in Broken Hill, initially in a development role, and subsequently as Operations Manager of the Pooncarie Mineral Sands Project.
